According to it’s Myspace page, The Happy Ending is not your “typical Hollywood dive bar.” I’d verify that fact, and also add “it’s much worse.” The Happy Ending actually made me sad. Similar to those random bugs you find in your dirty apartment, or fratty room that smells of barf and beer, I like shady places. You’re more likely to find me in the corner of a dark bar with no dress code and stiff cocktails over a club with DJ (insert cool name here) and flashing lights worthy of a thousand epileptic seizures. I guess I’m a dive bar kind of girl. I don’t know exactly why, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that the people in a less pretentious setting generally happen to be cooler, and they don’t start conversations by asking me if I’m an actress. At that point, I’m already more inclined to pour my drink down your shirt. And let’s be honest, my love of a shady bar probably all stems back from USC…home of the most infamous college dive bar, otherwise known as the 9-0.

Please somebody stop this pathetic excuse for a celebrity before she incites the demise of all things related to style. I understand that fashion is cyclical and that what’s been done will probably be done again, but there are some trends that simply should not be resurrected. Acid wash denim is of those trends. So, you’ve been occupied with work or school. You’ve been experiencing massive amounts of stress. Your dog ate your calendar. Whatever your excuse may be, the fact remains that you forgot Valentine’s Day.

In this dire situation, you’ve got two options:

1. Admit to it, become embarrassed, and deal with a livid girlfriend all night long. Eventually you’ll see that no amount of apologies can redeem this critical error, and you’ll have to resort to various ways to sucking up in order to ameliorate the situation.

2. Pretend like you didn’t forget, and make a mad dash to pick up a present. Acceptable gift in tow, surprise your girlfriend who automatically now thinks you’re thoughtful and considerate. Become her hero and save the day.

Between these options, I think you’ll agree that the latter sounds more promising unless you want to end up in relationship purgatory. As you can see, in order to avoid being the Grinch who stole V-Day, you’ll have to do some quick work to pull off an act that will gain you some points in the boyfriend department.
