Okay, so the much anticipated album of this year came out this week and you weren’t quite surprised with what you heard–but strangely you still needed your used Gatorade bottle filled with an entire bottle of cheap chardonnay to get through your first, second, third and fourth listens.

 We’re with ya, except we drank Tanqueray. 

Animal Collective’s eclectic sounds and electronic beats are close to home and the band maintains their authenticity with their repeated looping quality, which became the band’s staple.

But the video may very well be the biggest winner of them all– quirky (if not random)and colorful, nonchalantly rolling on ecstasy. With multicolored paramecium floating around, a sweat-on-glass background, the band transformed into the Blue Man Group (except they’re black) stuck in a cheap iPod commercial, the video is totally rad–like tripped out I need another poke of my syringe rad. In the end, you’ll definitely feel sludged hypnotized–if not cracked out–left to fend for yourself in a state of euphoria and satiated confusion. –DY
