THE POP FIX reviews one of the Newport Beach Film Festival’s featured documentaries, “Eleven Minutes,” which follows the first winner of “Project Runway,” Jay McCarroll, as he prepares for his collection debut.

What pop star wants to help you get your mind off the recession by doing totally insane things like change his name to Martin Louis the King, Jr.? Who else? In the latest issue of Complex magazine, Kanye West said he felt his role in the public is to “entertain people” and do the “crazy, bold stuff so [the public] can live through me and get their mind off the recession.” So, as he announced in a recent video, Kanye is changing his name to Martin Louis the King, Jr. — in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Kanye’s fave brand, Louis Vuitton. And he’s demanding that he “addressed as such.”

Congrats Bruin grads! Hope you have an awesome commencement when the actor who just graduated from your school give the big-time, motivating speech of the day! And not just any actor — but the one who played the stoner in Pineapple Express…

In addition to the three-day stint he’ll be making over at the Tonight Show with Jay Leno from March 24-27, plus a performance on Leno’s last show on May 28, the Artist Formerly Known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince will be playing a full-on marathon of concerts for all his fans to enjoy.
And by ‘marathon,’ we’re not kidding.

When Lindsay Lohan just couldn’t stand to see her thighs in regular pants or jeans, she decided to make leggings. Because you really want leggings that have kneepads and cost $100. So now it probably comes at no surprise that Lohan has found a way to solve the problem of her oh-so-pale and freckled skin (see above) — a $35 tanning spray. Because you really want that Lindsay Lohan tan.

The “Mad Men” actors and actresses may not be the most stylish ones on the set. Apparently, the real style man is, er, a boy, and the son of “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner, named Arlo. The second-grader was profiled as on GQ’s Men of Style site, where we learned about how Beck stalked the kid down the street because of his stylin’ ways and about the eight-year-old’s love for ascots and fezs. The Purple One is known for showing his love for L.A. by making random, unannounced appearances at Bardot in Hollywood and L.A. Live’s Conga Room, but now Prince is ready to announce some real dates…
