Bruce Campbell. The charming and charismatic actor who rose to fame as Ash in the Sam Raimi-directed “Evil Dead” “Evil Dead 2” and who could forget “Army of Darkness” – the 1992 fantasy-horror-comedy set in the middle ages that went on to become a cult classic. A movie that truly embodies the saying, “It’s so crazy, it just might work!” And though there’s been some talk over the years that we might one day get an “Army of Darkness 2” 20 years after the release of the original, our hopes and dreams for a sequel were pretty slim…until this year.

Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Fede Alvarez have all made statements about the current status of the rumored sequel at different points throughout 2013. Sometimes they made sense, sometimes not so much. But nobody in the “Evil Dead” crew has been able to confuse the media more than Bruce Campbell when it comes to “Army of Darkness 2.” Between interviews, appearances, and panels over the past year, he’s said it’s going to happen, it’s not going to happen, and even blamed the Internet for starting rumors – rumors that were based off things he actually said.

But the question still remains – will we ever get a straight story on that status of “Army of Darkness 2?”

In an effort to get to the truth, I brought some very special guests on THEPOPFIX to help me break down what’s been said over the past year, and what it all means. Thank you to Evan Dickson from Bloody-Disgusting and Ryan Turek of ShockTillYouDrop.com for joining me on this special edition of THEPOPFIX –  a 2013 timeline of  “Army of Darkness 2” According To Bruce Campbell & Friends.
