What Really Happened to Paris and Doug?

If you’ve been up on your celebrity gossip this week, you probably already know that Paris Hilton and her boyfriend ended up in a brawl at a club in Miami after she approached the DJ, to ask him to play a song she could dance to. According to RadarOnline.com,
“Paris approached the DJ in the nightclub at approximately 3am and requested a song by Madonna or Black Eyed Peas, something she could dance to. The DJ was spinning techno music. Suddenly a bodyguard near the DJ pushed Paris, she told RadarOnline.com. Doug then told the man not to touch his girlfriend.”
After Doug rushed to the side of his girlfriend, the brawl began and had to be broken up by hotel security. According to Hilton’s official blog, this is how things went down:
“Last night at a club my boyfriend and I were assaulted for no reason at all. The DJ (I don’t even know his name cause he sucks so bad) was playing the worst music ever! I like certain techno music, but this was not even danceable and was frankly giving me a migraine. I asked one of my friends who runs the hotel if he could change the music and he said ‘I’ll lead you up to the DJ booth tell him and he’ll play whatever you want.’ So he walked Doug and I over there. I asked the DJ if he could please play Daft Punk or Bob Sinclair and he rudely snapped at me and was like ‘I only play this kind of music.’ I think he was jealous cause Bob Sinclair is a far better DJ then this guy by about a million times. He was so unbelievably rude and all because I asked to play one good song. Then out of nowhere his bodyguard (don’t ask me why he has a bodyguard, like he really needs one. Ha) pushed me really hard, that’s when my boyfriend, like my knight in shining armor, stepped in and told the guy to keep his hands off of me.”
Wow, sounds like a total nightmare, doesn’t it? Poor Paris getting assaulted just for making a simple song request? Don’t people do that all the time in the clubs in LA? Why would she deserve to be pushed by a big bodyguard? Well, according to other sources, Miss Hilton’s account of this story might not be exactly true. The Miami New Times adds some important context to the story that doesn’t exactly corroborate Hilton’s side of the story. What Hilton failed to mention in her blog is that, whether she knew it or not, she happened to be in attendance at the Winter Music Conference, a huge festival dedicated to techno music. The Miami New Times even described it as, “The most important dance music festival in America.” The DJ involved in all this drama was Swedish music producer Steve Angello, and his reps are saying that it was Hilton’s bodyguard who actually threw the first punch.

“‘Steve plays dance music, he just doesn’t play hip hop. He politely refused Hilton’s requests but she got more and more agitated, and it escalated pretty quickly. Out of nowhere one of her security guards smacked Steve in the face. Steve is a quiet guy, but he had to act in self defense and fought back. He started pounding on the guy and it suddenly turned into a full scale fight in the DJ booth,’ says a source.”
If this is true, than Hilton may be a little more intelligent than we all expected. Soon after the brawl, RadarOnline had the story complete with quotes straight from the celebutant. Interesting. Steve Angello has yet to publicize his side of the story at the same level as Hilton did, so you’ll have to decide for yourself which side you believe.
Team Angello? or Team Hilton?
Check out the youtube video below to hear some of Angello’s music that started the Miami brawl, and in my humble opinion, it’s not half bad.
