It’s every girl’s worst nightmare…

You show up looking like crap at a star-studded event.  The most glamorous people in Hollywood surround you, looking flawless of course. Hermes bags in one hand, brand new Iphones in the other. You’d be hard pressed to find a chipped nail or stray hair in this crowd and you happen to be only person who wasn’t professionally groomed. Such a nightmare would give any girl a case of the night-sweats! Only I didn’t have the luxury of waking up from this terrible dream in the comfort of my own bed…this was (kind of) real life!

Let’s start at the beginning; I was prancing around in the rain, wearing old sweats and tennis shoes when I received the opportunity that every entertainment journalist dreams of: multiple celebrity interviews. I had about 90 minutes to get to the designated location, and you better believe I spent half of it cleaning myself up. This meant a quick blow dry, a coat of red nail polish, and some make-up on my naked face.

But alas, there was no make-up to be found! I had run out of my bare essentials foundation the night before, and had planned to spend theis very afternoon picking up a refill as I ran my errands.

Talk about worst case scenario. If you had told me yesterday that I would be face to face with Jessica Alba, arguably the most gorgeous woman in Tinsel-town, believe me when I say I would have found my way to a Sephora. Not hail, nor raging fires, earthquakes, or God herself could have stopped me.

But God was clearly not on my side today. No, I had to make do with the sprinkle of foundation I had left and leave the rest up to bronzer and good lighting (even that wasn’t a guarantee).

So yes, I met and interviewed Jessica Alba without face make-up and the added confidence that comes with it. However, I’m proud to say that I survived and made it back home to my laptop to make fun of myself. Let this serve as a valuable lesson, beloved readers.
