New Soul

I dread seeing the Macbook “Air” commercial.

Because whenever it comes on, I know I’ll have Yael Naim’s infectious pop song stuck in my head.

The track is titled “New Soul” and it’s quickly taking over my television, my Ipod and my room (as my roommates are now also addicted).

Naim, a French-Israeli songwriter, sings of learning and making mistakes, punctuated with a string of highly recognizable la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la’s. It’s impossible to dislike this song. Her quirky and fun lyrics are distinguished by over-riding themes of hope and optimism. You can find “New Soul” on Naim’s self titled album, the perfect upbeat, springtime addition to your music collection.
