THE POP FIX Finds Free Stuff Online

A wise man once said, “you get what you pay for.” This statement has irritated many a dedicated bargain hunter throughout history. If you do your homework, seek the deals, and/or wait for you favorite items to go on sale, shouldn’t the smart consumer be rewarded rather than proverbially berated? At least, that’s what we think at THE POP FIX, the online magazine that often runs content on how you can make the most of your money. Perhaps the saying should be, “you get what you look for.” But can you find anything interesting without actually spending money? We went on an internet search to find out. And, well, you can be the judge.

FREE STUFF YOU CAN GET ONLINE

1. The 4-Hour Workweek

cover-lorez

Learn how to make your wildest dreams reality from the ultimate authority on lifestyle design, Tim Ferriss. His interesting and inspiring audio book is free right now on audible.com. But this offer may not last long, so jump on it!

2. Martha Stewart Thanksgiving Cookbook

Need help with your Thanksgiving entrees? Challenged in the culinary department? Well, luckily for you (and the people who have to sample your wares), I found a free download for Martha Stewart’s Thanksgiving Cookbook! So now, you can finesse your way through the holidays with a little help from Martha!

3. Rimmel Sweet Jelly Lipgloss

rimmel

Choose one of four shades of  the new Rimmel lipgloss that claims to slide on without creating a sticky mess. I’m sure your boyfriend will appreciate it. Get your sample of the gloss here. My favorite shade? The fleshy, peach-toned “Tutti Frutti.”

4. Escada “Desire Me”

escada1

Samples of Escada’s “Desire Me” Fragrance (described as fruity and floral) are available at this site, but unfortunately not for our American, British, Canadian and French readers. That means our Asian readers are in luck! This offer lasts as long as supplies do!

5. A Christmas Carol

carol1

Download Charles Dickens’ classic cautionary tale built around the adage that too much work makes you cold-hearted and cruel, on iTunes. This audio book might even help the worst family curmudgeons embrace the approaching holiday season with joy in their hearts and Christmas presents for all…even Tiny Tim.

6. Free Credit Report

Like the song says, “Freecreditreport.com tell your friends, tell your Dad, tell your Mom!” Better yet, give them a credit report for Christmas. There’s nothing like receiving a financial statement wrapped up in a big bow! However, this site’s famous name is misleading because the credit report isn’t technically free. They charge you to pull the credit information. But, despite their affiliation with the non-freecreditreport.com, the like-able Free Credit Report band has their own (free) website complete with blog, lyrics and video.

7. Aveda Rosemary Mint Body Wash

aceda

One of my favorite, refreshing scents from Aveda is now free to those of you who print out this coupon. Offer expires 1/31/2010. To get the most of out this product, I reccomend using it first thing in the morning. The minty-fresh scent in your steamy shower will help jolt you out of your sleep-induced state.
