THE POP SHOP: Scents for the Summer

It’s time to put your musky, spicy and oriental fragrances in the back of your fragrance collection. If you like to switch up your scents according to the season, keep in mind that Summer is the time to use perfumes that are refreshing, clean, floral and fruity. Here are some of the best scents to use this summer, all available at Sephora.com.

Miss Dior Cherie

This Dior fragrance is young, fresh, fruity and clean. Although it’s a soft and sweet fragrance, it’s bold enough to wear day or night. Everything about Miss Dior Cherie is innocent, and feminine, even the top of the bottle which is shaped like a bow. This is my absolute favorite warm-weather fragrance,  and constantly get compliments whenever I wear it. I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Dior J’adore.

Amazing Grace

This fragrance by Philosophy smells fresh and clean, as if you stepped out of an amazing shower. There’s nothing harsh, dramatic or remotely offensive about Amazing Grace. It’s gentle and floral without the sweetness you’d find in Miss Dior Cherie. I would recommend this fragrance to anyone who wants to be refreshed and not overpowered by a fragrance.

Michael Kors

The Michael Kors self-titled fragrance is classic. It’s versatile enough to wear through any season, but the strong freesia notes are especially refreshing for the warm summer months. In fact, it’s so strong that a little goes a long way, especially if layered with the body lotion or leg shine (which I also recommend, all of the Michael Kors products in this scent are great).

Clinique Happy

This 12-year-old fragrance is an oldie, but goodie when it comes to the summer months. The citrus notes really do create a truely “happy” statement. This Clinique scent is classic, chic, but pretty recognizable. So if you hate it when people automatically know what fragrance you’re wearing, I wouldn’t recommend Clinique “Happy.”
