STYLE PROFILE: Blake Lively

I usually destroy people when I talk about their fashion sense (don’t get me started on Miley), and for some reason those are the most read articles. Yet, Blake Lively is quite difficult for me to criticize because I feel she is really heading towards a fantastic direction in terms of style, especially when discussing the colors she chooses and the labels she prefers. Blake Lively (or our favorite high-school whore from Gossip Girl) is definitely becoming an IT girl in my book.

Chanel really suits Lively. The black long dress in the picture accentuates her attributes, while still showing a flawless silhouette, matching with a Cambon style clutch and dark shoes. The pendant is a bit too much for me, but the general look is clean and inspiring. The second Chanel dress continues to show her preference for the firm while portraying her as a dark-blue Christmas tree. Mr. Lagerfeld makes beautiful clothes, but this in particular looks horrible. The shoes are pretty, though (I said she is good, but not perfect!).

Versace makes her look so pretty because the designs are not safe, without being boring. She pulled them off twice, and very memorably, at that. Once at the Emmy’s in a long colorful dress with appliqués around the breasts that enhance her statuesque presence. And then in the “Model as Muse” event, in a turquoise Versace that showed her flawless legs, next to our Vogue goddess Anna Wintour. She scores A+ on both.

However, I found two of my favorites. One is a Nina Ricci long dress with trail and detains on the chest. Flawlessly combined with silver shoes and jewelry to match, she looks elegant, yet modern. The second is a Ralph Lauren tight dark number, with a clutch and a beautiful feathered tail at the bottom. Ladies, if you have this figure, go out and buy this dress for Christmas. Otherwise, don’t even go there…

I would love to close with a gallery of horror. Vena Cava, at a private event. It’s horrendous, boho-wannabe  and it is sucking hard. Don’t even go there… And though I love Roberto’s work, the Cavalli she wore to that Swarovski party is just hideous, no matter how perfect her belly is. She looks worst than La Loca Lohan.

I agree. Not drunk, not high, nothing but style, glamour and a sparkling personality, right?
