Best Bow & Arrow Movies – POP 5

Thanks to technology, and vast advancements when it comes to special effects, there isn’t a weapon we haven’t seen on the big screen. But lightsabers, alpha-omega bombs, and sonic shotguns aside, who doesn’t love a good old fashioned display of weaponry? I know all of us here at THEPOPFIX sure do. And that’s precisely why we’re here to list off the best bow & arrow movies of all time, in this POP 5 countdown.

POP 5 Best Bow & Arrow Movies

1. “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” “Robin Hood: Men In Tights” and “Robin Hood”

Everybody loves this classic tale of an outlaw who takes from the rich and gives to the poor, enough so that we’ve seen it on the big screen multiple times. But our favorite reincarnations of Robin of Locksley were Kevin Costner in 1991’s “Prince of Thieves,” Cary Elwes in the Mel Brooks’ spoof “Men In Tights,” and of course, Disney’s 1973 animated movie “Robin Hood.”

Who doesn’t love a singing, and bow-and-arrow-slinging humanoid fox?

2. “The Lord Of The Rings” Trilogy

The epic “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy made bow and arrows sexy again thanks to Orlando Bloom’s character Legolas, who was always on point, even for an elf. It’s enough to make a girl consider a move to Middle Earth.

3. “The Avengers”

What’s a list of best bow and arrow big screen moments without a mention of “The Avengers,” arguably the best superhero movie of all time? Jeremy Renner played Hawkeye in the movie, and spoke about this badass character’s bow and arrow skills describing Hawkeye as an “outcast” with a “high skill set” so crucial to The Avengers that,  “he’s the only one who can really take down the Hulk with his [tranquilizer-tipped] arrows.”

4. “Avatar”

Okay, so the Na’vi might not be real, but their skills in archery certainly are. Neyriti’s archery skills even killed the bad guy General Quaritch in the movie (even though arguably it wasn’t that effective since he’s apparently coming back for the next two sequels.)

5. “The Hunger Games”

Katniss Everdeen is truly a firecracker, much like the actress who plays her, Jennifer Lawrence. She’s a highly skilled archer, hunter, and trapper, skills that certainly came in handy in helping her score an 11 out of 12 in the pre-games judging. And we gotta give her mega props for being the only human female to make our POP 5.
