Newport Beach Film Festival – Opening Night
Last Thursday night kicked off the 10th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival with a sold-out showing of Derick Martini’s Lymelife at Edwards Big Newport Theater at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA. In attendance at the screening were some recognizable stars, including newfound teen heartthrob Adam Gregory, best known for his role in 17 Again and as Miley Cyrus’s crush in Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Also in attendance was actor Brian Tee, known for his role as Eddie Choi on primetime series Crash and as bad boy D.K. in The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. Brian is here this weekend to promote & support indie film Deadland (premiering on Saturday night, review coming soon), along with actor/writer Gary Weeks.
Fans were ecstatic to see McG out in full support, known best for his role as executive producer of hit shows The O.C., Chuck, and as director of the upcoming summer flick Terminator: Salvation.
Immediately following the screening, festival goers were treated to an opening gala in the courtyard of Fashion Island, which included a summer fashion show sponsored by Bloomingdale’s and a performance by Cirque du Soleil. From the mood of the atmosphere, it seems the coming week will be full of much enthusiasm for independent film and its future.
