“Bound 2″ & “Nymphomaniac” – Put It Away!

Do you all have the internet or television? Probably the internet, since you’re reading this article. If that is indeed the case, you are probably familiar with Kanye West, or as I like to call him, “The gift that keeps on giving.” I’m actually a big fan of Kanye’s. When I first moved to LA, 808’s and Heartbreak was my JAM album. I sang back up on “Gold Digger” karaoke just last week. But Houston, we have a problem…

Pop Culture Loves “Bound 2″

I’m the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’d like to take this opportunity to name something that I’m grateful for: Kanye West. From twitter rants to over the top performances, Kanye really is the gift that keeps on giving. Recently, the world was treated to another gem courtesy of Yeezy and his fiance (and baby mama) Kim Kardashian with the release of the music video for “Bound 2.” This video has everything including Kimye on a stationary motorcycle, wind machines and green screened desert imagery. This week, the world was treated to the shot-for-shot remake of “Bound 2″ starring James Franco and Seth Rogen known as “Bound 3.” Click to read more about this and other pop culture parodies of “Bound 2.”

THE POP FIX Exclusive: We Couldn’t Read Her Poker Face

Yesterday, THEPOPFIX reporters were out at Akon’s pre-Grammy party at 944 Magazine headquarters interviewing celebrities in the faint hope of asking Lady Gaga what she does with her “disco stick.” We stood there in line, myself, Erin Darling and Celeste Perez, standing with our camera, mics, and DSLR in tow in a small room standing elbow to elbow with some sweaty old paparazzi (one who wanted really badly to take our pics) the girls wearing painful three-inch stilettos, myself with unkempt hair, waiting patiently by interviewing celebrities like Eva Marcille (of America’s Next Top Model fame) Colby O’Donis, Adrian Bailon, and being shafted by the Kardashians, while failing to interview the host, Akon, himself. This is the sacrifice we made while waiting extremely patiently for Lady Gaga, who was promised to be in attendance…

The Newest of LA Nightlife: MyHouse Review

Gone are the days when all that was needed to throw a slammin’ house party were a couple of kegs, a semi-decent sound system, and chill neighbors who didn’t call the cops on you before midnight. With the recent introduction of MyHouse onto the Los Angeles nightlife scene, the meaning of what a house party is, and should be, has been completely redefined. Last Friday, at the invitation of a friend, I left my very own house doubtful of what MyHouse could possibly have to offer that other clubs in Hollywood didn’t. My skepticism was short-lived, as it was quickly checked at the door the moment I crossed the threshold into the 10,000 square foot venue. Upon being ushered in, I was given a comprehensive tour of the establishment; what I was met with was nothing short of impressive. Although the concept of modeling a nightclub after a home is not unprecedented, the manner in which the club’s principal designer, Dodd Mitchell, interpreted and executed the concept certainly was. Although Mitchell took a minimalist approach in modeling the club after a modern day dream home, no luxurious detail seemed to have been spared.

Kim Kardashian Was Cute

Kim Kardashian posted some pictures (circa elementary school) on her website two days ago…so we know she has at least a 4th grade education. And although Kim has a lot of haters out there, we have to admit that she was an adorable kid. Wow, this really brings me back. Can’t you just smell the tanbark, hear the school bell, feel the rusty see-saw, taste the sweet, sweet paste?

With the recent sex-tape scandal of Kristin Davis (Sex and the City,) it’s obvious that these celebrities are smarter than we think.
The whole point in being a celebrity is that you’re famous. And when that fame starts to dwindle and slip away, you gotta do something fast or your next paycheck just may be from your old shows still in syndication somewhere in Jamaica. While this might be an easy way of living, it’s not fabulous, and to live a rich and famous lifestyle, you gotta rake in the dough …

In her appearance on The View today, Kim Kardashian got grilled harder than Hillary Clinton at an Obama support rally. Barbara Walters, being the hard-hitting journalist that she is, went in for the kill as she asked the question the world needs to know; “Why are you famous?”
