You Know You Live On The Westside When…

If you never go east of the 405 you know you got westside pride! As a life-long resident of the greater Los Angeles westside, THEPOPFIX’s Kristin Mineo’s talking Santa Monica stereotypes on this week’s SOAPBOX. It’s a must-see for anyone who’s into juicing, yoga pants, and/or never going to the beach even though you live within walking distance.

THEPOPFIX Introduces Lady Love Letters

Recently I found myself driving down Sunset Boulevard shocked at the images hovering above me. Normally I try to avert my eyes as the Sunset skyline is littered with half naked models attempting to sell me things that I can’t afford or convince me to look a way that I’ll never look. Photos & Thoughts on Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service

After the more than three hour memorial, I can attest that at least for today Michael Jackson will be remembered as the King of Pop and not for his past trials and negative publicity. It’s sad to think that Jackson perhaps died on a sour note with a tarnished reputation after a series of child molestation charges. As “Tito” Jackson stated in Jackson’s memorial book, “I watched the light in Michael’s eyes fade as he faced trials and tribulations for being misunderstood.”

THE POP FIX Weekend Concert Picks 06/19-06/21

This weekend is an indie bonanza for Los Angeles citizenry lucky enough to acquire several hot tickets – among the big shows this weekend are legendary Americana rockers Wilco at the Fox Theater and experimental New Yorkers Grizzly Bear with two shows in the L.A. area. Unfortunately, all three shows have been declared sold-out, but THE POP FIX has plenty of back-ups that can more than hold their own on the stage…
