Nash’s “Made of Bricks” is Impervious

There was a period of time when you couldn’t turn on MTV without seeing Kate Nash’s adorable mug at the end of The Hills. However, Nash’s songs deserve more than a 30 second snippet. Dublin born and London raised, this 20-year-old songstress has wisdom and wit beyond her years. Her debut album, “Made of Bricks” is an honest collection of insightful relationship narratives, entertaining anecdotes and dry, Brit-humor.

After a few spins of “Made of Bricks” you’ll feel like you’ve a spent a long night at a pub with Nash, exchanging stories and laughing about your last fight with your boyfriend. Nash somehow has the ability to establish a personal rapport with her listeners through her simple and honest lyrics. And, any girl with the guts to put a song entitled “Dickhead” on her first album, scores major points in my book.

With a voice like Feist, Lily Allen’s accent, and the lyrics of Regina Spektor, we predict that Kate Nash will be the next in the long line of Brit imports to make it big in the states.
