We know – it’s an annoying tradition. Why should anyone be punished with a pinch for not wearing green just because it’s March 17th? Can’t we all just celebrate in non-coordinating color schemes? After all, no other holiday has a dress code reinforced by the pinching-police.
In an effort to help you avoid the St. Patty’s Day pinchers, here are some fresh, and fun ways to work some green into your wardrobe this spring – without looking like you just jumped off a box of Lucky Charms.
1. For the girl on the go – the simple scarf
What’s more simple, classic, and chic than a scarf? If it’s versatility you’re looking for, it’s the ultimate accessory. Fold it into a headband, tie it around your neck, or loop it through the handle of your favorite purse – and voila! Working green into your wardrobe has never been this easy. Try out this Jonathan Adler Dip Dye Scarf in Mint/Turquoise from Nordstrom.com, for $118.00.
2. For the commitment phobe – the crossbody bag
For a hint of green that you can put on, take off, or sling around the back of a chair like you just don’t care, try a crossbody bag in a pale mint green. This woven leather purse is the perfect way to casually wear St.Patrick’s color, without technically “wearing” it. Fossil’s Sydney Crossbody in Mint is available at Macys.com for $128.00.
3. For the sophisticate – the elegant earring
The pub doesn’t have to be your scene in order to make a scene in green this St. Patrick’s Day. Add a pop of color to an all black, white, or neutral wardrobe with the help of these 18k yellow gold Irene Neuwirth earrings set with rose cut chrysoprase and diamonds, available at Barneys.com for $1960.00.
I hope you’ve been saving up your allowance…
4. For the party girl – the neon wayfarers
Plan on spending your St. Patty’s Day partying? Stay out all day, or all night, in these neon wayfarer sunglasses. Featuring colored mirror lenses and a matte finish, these retro sunnies are the perfect way to showcase your seasonal spirit in a way that won’t break the bank if you happen to lose them after a long night at the pub. Pick up these neon wayfarers at Forever21.com for just $5.80.
5. For the classy broad – the sexy silhouette
For a look that’s just as classic as it is sexy, stand out in a mint green silhouette with chic lace panels for an elegant look that works for day or night. Try BCBG’s Maude Boatneck Dress for a timeless look with flirty details that show off a hint of skin, listed at $298.00 at BCBG.com.
If you want the next model, the BlackBerry 9000, you’ll have to wait until July/August to receive one. Back in December, there were rumors flying left and right that the newest addition to the BlackBerry family would be similar to the iPhone:touch screen, 3G, wifi capabilities. There was a picture even floating around, duping even the most prestigious Web sites like Engadget and Gizmodo.
Yesterday, it was announced that the new BlackBerry would be faster than the iPhone, would jam pack more features, but would not be touch screen. The new phone will be almost identical in size as the iPhone but the screen would be a lot smaller because of the QWERTY keyboard. The new phone would not work on AT&T’s slow EDGE network like the iPhone, but would have 3G capabilities.
The newest addition to the BlackBerry family seems to be one of the greatest devices to hit the U.S. market in years and could truly be a competitive alternative to the iPhone. If you’re trying to purchase the more outdated models like the 8830, Pearl, or Curve, I’d suggest you wait a little more until you jump on the BlackBerry wagon–I’ll bet anything you’ll be berry satisfied.
One thing that’s always boggled my mind about the cosmetic industry is how few make-up companies grasp the fact that it’s supposed to be fun.
With their enthusiastic colors, and original ad campaigns, fun is something that MAC always remembers, and that’s why we love them.
MAC is always coming out with the most fresh ideas in the industry, and their Spring 2008 collection is no exception. Inspired by French graphic artist Fafi, this collection is bold, bright and in your face.
Fafi’s cartoonish, Harajuku-inspired doodles come to life in the Fafi campaign, bringing us into a world of fantasy and fun. Both the packaging and the bright pinks and blues used in the products themselves are inspired by Fafi’s urban graffiti style which combines innocence with sex appeal.
Visit the MAC and Fafi website to get a closer look at the line, and the signature looks MAC artists have created.
Our favorite looks are the harajuku-girl inspired “fafi” and the pretty in pink “strawbaby.”
All these adjectives describe my new discovery, mango ice cream. And no, I can’t tell you how I’ve spanned two decades without it in my life.
I’ve heard about garlic and fish flavored ice cream, but that’s a little too experimental. This is future of ice cream. It’s fresh and sweet with retaining a natural tangy flavor true to the fruit. Top it with fresh pineapple for a tropical treat!
It’s spring break season.
However, as a student myself, I must admit that spring break destinations have become increasingly typical. You can expect Acapulco, Cabo, Cancun, and any other touristy city in Mexico to be overrun with college students over the next few weeks as they celebrate a much-needed break from studying…with tequila. Mexico has emerged as a popular destination for spring breakers because it’s inexpensive, relatively close, and the legal drinking age is 18. However, while a Mexican getaway can be fun, here are some options for the more adventurous traveler looking for a truly unique experience:
Ibiza- Looking for sun, sand and sangria? Then Spain might suit you well. The only downside this vacation may bring is severe jetlag on top of your hangover. HINT: Consider booking a first class ticket for your return flight.
Alaska- Interested in immersing yourself in natural beauty? An Alaskan cruise is a good choice for those who prefer a destination with lower temperatures.
Giza- Africa is an exotic getaway for the extremely adventurous, Indiana Jones type. Explore the tombs, admire the pyramids, and ride the camels! Giza presents endless possibilities for the vacationer/tourist who can’t stand boredom.
No matter where your travels take you, remember to have fun, be safe, and don’t do anything The Pop Fix wouldn’t do!

Both my old roomate and I drive all the way from LA to Huntington Beach for our blonde fix from stylist Brandy Jo Steele whom we both refer to as a “hair God.” Needless to say, it’s worth it. The commute may be from hell, but we keep coming back to worship!
Steele has been at HQ for nearly four years, where she’s learned many tricks of the trade and has seen trends come and go. But what’s hot for Spring and Summer 2008? Steele predicts Posh and Pete Wentz.

GIRLS:
Although this Beckham bounces from Blonde to Brunette, her current bob remains. Posh’s straight, slightly angular cut frames her face. Steele cites this Spice Girl as a trendsetter and predicts that many girls will be trading in their long locks for a shorter look this season. And why not? With the sun and sand damage your hair will be getting, taking a few inches off could do wonders.
GUYS:
Fallout Boy’s Pete Wentz may be “goin’ down swingin” but at least he’s going down looking good. Steele says that Pete Wentz’s signature cut is becoming popular in the salon. This Fallout Boy’s choppy, cropped cut is fun and interesting if you’re a guy looking for something new to try. After the cut, all you’ll need is skinny jeans, eyeliner and an Ashlee Simpson look-a-like and you’re good to go.
