Bruce Campbell Says No “Army of Darkness 2″
Fans who have been patiently awaiting a follow up to the 1992 cult classic, “Army of Darkness” will be disappointed to hear that an “Army of Darkness 2″ isn’t happening, according to Bruce Campbell.
THEPOPFIX‘s Erin Darling caught up with Campbell at Stan Lee’s Comikaze, where the actor said, “It’s all Internet BS,” when asked about the sequel which has been rumored to be in the works for the past several months.
Although the Internet has indeed been buzzing about “Army of Darkness 2,” the information fueling the story of the sequel often comes from sources close to the project, like Campbell himself. ComicBook.com reported that Campbell said, “The answer is yes” in response to a fan question regarding if he was going to make an “Army of Darkness 2″ at Wizard World Comic Con just a few weeks ago. And just days ago, “Evil Dead” director Fede Alvarez took to Twitter to say that Sam Raimi would be directing the project.
But according to Campbell, “There’s no reality whatsoever” to the rumored AoD follow up.
The actor continued to say, “These random comments come out of my mouth, or Sam Raimi’s mouth, next thing you know, we’re making a sequel. Unless it’s announced from Renaissance Pictures, it’s not real.”
