Posen For Target: Not Impressive, But Good Enough

The lookbook for Zac Posen for Target has been around for a while but the collection is about to hit the shelves on April 25. It makes me wonder if we’re seeing good clothes or simple rags. As for Gaultier, his collaboration with Target (which I saw and inspected myself last weekend) is rather triumphant. True, the fabrics are odd and the cuts are not “couture,” the silhouettes are less than perfect, but you can see the design process, the whole structure as being more than a mere attempt at creation a cheap clothing line.

Posen’s collection follows the same line but only in a couple of looks.

The jacket in yellow is a fine example of “fun” clothing. For men, Dolce and Gaultier have presented a couple in past seasons. For women this jacket seems like a fairly good priced option.

The same goes to the golden top with floral skirt. Though Dolce has introduced floral prints this season, we see a work of thought where the expression of spring is aided by a metallic top. The trend will continue with a floral dress detailed around the waist, this in particular enhances the appearance of the legs while providing a better figure than most regular dresses at Target.

The metallic dress in old gold shows a glamorous Hollywood vibe, topped by a black belt to strut the waistline and give wholeness to the outfit.

The little black dress is just obvious and unnecessary. On the same style, the pink and blue dress is just awful to look at, and definitely impossible for someone “normal” to wear. You would need to be size 0 to pull this off.

Don’t get me going on the “overall” blue dress. It is just hideous, like something you would wear to church in the country. And the longer pink dress with white accents makes me wonder if it can be purchased for 10 dollars. His flight attendant uniform is just a confusion between fashion, ugly fabrics and lack of imagination.

However, Posen tries to redeem himself with two looks: the first is the red dress. The cut is beautiful. It hides huge curves if needed. It includes a beautiful breast line that is enhanced by the cut in the waist. And the lower part is just plain pretty. Very nice.

The second is a black dress with a red jacket. It is simple, cute, elegant and yet has a modern rockstar air. Not impressive, just good enough.

Wow this collection of ridiculous garments is a piece of shit. Look at how cheap it all is. Zac Posen needs help.

What a disaster!!! These fashions look like they were sewn by a novice seamstress. They look cheap and poorly constructed. The gold floral dress looks like it was made with the fabric of my grandmothers drapes.
Nobody will wear this stuff just because it has a big name designers name on the tag. It should look, fit and feel amazing just like the stuff Posen designs for the celebs. The celebs he dresses would not even dress their dogs in this crap!!!
