Next Gen Consoles: Can Xbox One Compete?
It was the battle of the next gen consoles at E3 where the question on everyone’s mind was, “PS4 or Xbox One?”
Microsoft and Sony went head to head with press conferences, releasing highly anticipated information about the competing consoles, while gamers, consumers, and critics alike waited to compare and contrast.
Sony came out strong simply by reminding us that the PS4 will sell for $399.00 and supports used games, unlike its competitor. While Microsoft’s Xbox One ended up sounding like a high maintenance girlfriend, that requires a check in every 24 hours, and access to Daddy’s credit card…yes, this console will cost you $499.00.
After the presentations, many audience members jumped on the PS4 bandwagon, and found it difficult to identify pros to purchasing the pricey Xbox One.
By time E3 concluded, Sony unveiled its new ad campaign, “We’re not Xbox.” While fellow Big 3 member, Nintendo announced it’s next ad campaign, “We’re still here.”
Both next gen consoles will hit stores in time for the holiday shopping season, so which side do you fall on? PS4? Or Xbox One? Sound off, leave a comment, or check out Crave Online’s coverage where I discuss the pros and cons with Gaming Editor, Erik Norris, below.
