What’s not to love about summer in Los Angeles? It’s that special time of year when the weather is warm, days are long, and everyone’s itching to spend some time outside. With all of the fun outdoor events that a summer in LA has to offer, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out of the house, and switch up your date night routine with a little summertime spice.

WHAT: Watch popular cult and classic movies presented by Cinespia in Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

WHAT: Listen to bands and DJ performances at KCRW’s Summer Nights

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT:  Join KCRW as they go from the studio to the street, bringing a series of free outdoor shows to a Los Angeles neighborhood near you. All ages are welcome to Summer Nights, giving everyone the chance to dance the night away with their honey to the tunes of up and coming bands in interesting locations ranging from California Plaza downtown, to Westwood’s Hammer Museum. It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s an excuse to explore a new neighborhood. What’s not to love?

 

WHAT: Take your boo out to the ball game at Dodger Stadium

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: Nothing says summer like baseball and beer, which is why there’s no time like the present to soak in America’s favorite pastime by spending a day at Dodger Stadium. Baseball’s notoriously long season provides fans with many opportunities to catch a game, and with some tickets available for under $10 bucks online, it’s a no-brainer. Whether your companion is a Dodger fan or not, score points by swopping up some peanuts, Cracker Jacks and tickets to watch their hometown team.
