Holiday Trends: What To Wear To That Special Party
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And you know what that means? You need a new wardrobe to usher in this festive season. Now, I can’t quite give you a “Guide of How to Buy a New Wardrobe” - but I can give you some hints on this season’s amazing holiday dress trends that are sure to have you shinning this Holiday season.
Yes, this blog is just for the ladies…sorry fellas. As for the guys, here’s my only tip - wear a tie. It does wonders.
Jewel Tones
These bright hues are all the rage in dresses and also in footwear. You know you’ve eyed that pair of sapphire pumps in Macy’s. The fact that jewel tones work so well in clothing and footwear gives you some options here. Be on the hunt for jewel tone colors that will pop against your skin. There are some gorgeous deep cranberry, emerald green and gorgeous sapphire colors out there that are sure to make you the talk of the holiday party.
Not in the mood for a loud ensemble? You can always go the route of a simple, classic black dress - and then add the pop of color with the jewel tone shoes in purple, blue, green or red - BAM!
Sparkle in Sequins
I know what you’re thinking - sequins, really? YES! It doesn’t have to be a bedazzled nightmare, sequins can be done very tastefully to accentuate holiday glamor. Like here with a beautiful dress worn by Emma Roberts. The entire look shines, rather than looking over-the-top tacky. Plus, you can get extra mileage out of it for New Years Eve too!
Black & Gold
Yes, you may think it screams 80s prom night - but give it another chance. Actually, for the holidays there couldn’t be a more perfect pairing. Black hinges the looks, while the gold accents the ensemble making you glow brighter than all the Christmas lights.
Asymmetrical Shape
Is it possible for a dress silhouette and shape to be a trend? Oh yes.
Asymmetrical style dresses have been all the rage along the red carpet all year long, and this trend is going to follow us right into the Holiday season. It’s flattering on every shape and looks just as elegant as a strapless dress – except you don’t have to keep lifting it up all night long. Can I get an “Amen!” to that one?
Hot Colors: Slate Gray and Plum
You can either pair together these two complementary colors, or you can choose to wear them separate. Nothing looks quite as striking and old Hollywood glam like a slate gray getup - but remember there’s a big difference between subdued gray hue and silver.
Best of luck finding that perfect Holiday dress!
Pretty picks. Love the gold dress.
