UPDATE: Police officials tell E! Online that Rihanna is cooperating with them, stating that Chris Brown, her boyfriend, threatened to kill her. What had occurred was that Brown pulled over in Hancock Park after both got into an altercation after the Pre-Grammy Party, sources said. After, Rihanna threw Brown’s keys out of the window, sending Brown into a rage. Brown then said “I’m going to kill you” and allegedly choked Rihanna. She went unconscious and woke up bruised, hand marks on her arms. Chris Brown had fled when she awoke.

Yesterday, THEPOPFIX reporters were out at Akon’s pre-Grammy party at 944 Magazine headquarters interviewing celebrities in the faint hope of asking Lady Gaga what she does with her “disco stick.” We stood there in line, myself, Erin Darling and Celeste Perez, standing with our camera, mics, and DSLR in tow in a small room standing elbow to elbow with some sweaty old paparazzi (one who wanted really badly to take our pics) the girls wearing painful three-inch stilettos, myself with unkempt hair, waiting patiently by interviewing celebrities like Eva Marcille (of America’s Next Top Model fame) Colby O’Donis, Adrian Bailon, and being shafted by the Kardashians, while failing to interview the host, Akon, himself. This is the sacrifice we made while waiting extremely patiently for Lady Gaga, who was promised to be in attendance…

So it goes in many a tumultuous relationship: one party wrongs the other party, apologizes, and then they have make up sex. This is exactly what just happened to Michael Phelps and Subway…minus the sex part. After he was dropped from cereal juggernaut, Kellogg’s, fellow-endorser, Subway, finally decided to speak out as well. However, instead of a slap in the face, and the whole “You don’t deserve me!” spiel, Subway happily opened its arms and accepted Phelps’ apology for the recent photos that feature him taking a bong rip.
