Giant Blue Genitals Prove Only Somewhat Appealing To ‘Watchmen’ Fans
It’s tough to tell what the reason for the less-than-spectacular turnout would be. Could it be the giant, glowing blue genitals of Dr. Manhattan?
This is a plausible theory. Others attribute the film’s lackluster performance to the tremendous hype and poor word of mouth that may have turned off die-hard fans.

Fanboys of the original “Watchmen” graphic novel were snobby as hell, using their nerd quotient to either blackball the movie entirely or support it, a decision based entirely on their dork level and/or level of female sexual interaction.
Regardless, the film has continued to be a lukewarm hit with film critics. “Watchmen” has thus far scored a 65% positive rating on RottenTomato.com, good enough to surpass “300″ but trailing superhero powerhouse “The Dark Knight” by a hefty margin.
The big factor in deciding whether or not “Watchmen” will reach true blockbuster status will be whether it has legs, that is, if the film continues to bring in bucks next weekend and beyond.
On a separate note, it is worth noting that IMAX screenings of “Watchmen” proved highly successful, with 10 percent of the gross coming from just 124 IMAX theaters, or roughly 3.4 percent of the 3,611 total screens.
I heard his genitals were not that big, in fact? So the emphasis was not a good thing for Billy Crudup, maybe! ahahaha
Hey,
I thought thta the blue balls scene was hilarious. Blue-balls…like, literally blue balls?
haha
I heard that it sucked and was way over hyped.
