Wanna know who writes our music section? Who’s the fashionista behind all of the latest trends? And what about the quirky, snarky jabs that are written about Lady Gaga? Who are those people interviewing on the red carpet, anyway?

Who’s giving you YOUR FIX?

ERIN DARLING - EDITOR IN CHIEF

Erin Darling

Erin Darling

Erin got her start in entertainment at the age of 17 as the host of a local San Francisco bay area show “Spotlight TV.” Since then she’s been pursuing hosting, writing and reporting in radio, TV and in new media formats.

While obtaining her degree in Broadcast Journalism at USC, she interned at E!, NBC and the CNN Democratic Primary Presidential Debates. On campus, Erin nabbed a spot as a radio DJ/personality for KLMU AM and had her own show–an entertaining blend of talk, music and live performances from up and coming LA musicians. She also gained local TV experience as an anchor on Trojan Vision’s “Platforum” and as a writer and anchor for “Annenberg TV News.”

Always looking for the next challenge, Erin created THEPOPFIX.com, a LA-centric lifestyle and entertainment website, in 2007 with friend and colleague David Yi. She still serves as the Editor-in-Chief of THEPOPFIX.com where she writes, and produces video content with an elite team of talented journalists, writers and TV hosts.

Erin’s most recent endeavors include serving as the writer and host of an entertainment show on BSWchannel.com. She’s been on the set of Will.I.Am’s “Yes We Can” videos in support of Barack Obama, interviewing celebrities as a writer for dipdive.com. She has been a featured writer and contributor to CTNgreen.com, an online magazine that focuses on green alternatives to popular products. She’s also been featured on G4 as a contestant to be a booth babe for the E3 convention.

In her spare time, Erin loves to read, write and find new music to explore. An avid travel junkie, Erin loves to explore new places and has lived in Paris, France while studying avant-garde theater and in Oxford, England where she studied parliamentary debate and British politics. She’s also sampled Sangria in Spain, visited the Roman ruins, navigated her way through Tokyo alone, and says her favorite meal in Mexico was a cheap bowl of menudo in the local mercado.

GERARDO MENDEZ - FASHION & STYLE CONTRIBUTOR

Gerardo Mendez

Gerardo Mendez

Gerardo is a 24-year-old engineer with a Master’s degree and a bundle of talent. He has been a writer since he can remember, winning national awards on essays, poems and short stories that he has created.

Gerardo has been interested in fashion since the first time he held a pair of Prada shoes. He immediately understood that clothing is a manifestation of art, and of the pure desire for perfection in lines and shapes. Working as a fashion collaborator for online magazines from LA to NYC, he has gained a deeper understanding on what’s in, what’s out, and what works for you. When he’s not writing about Gaultier or Galliano, Gerardo can be found at the gym,  painting, or well as shopping (duh).

RUDY KLAPPER - MUSIC CONTRIBUTOR

Rudy Klapper

20-year-old writer Rudy Klapper suffered through the desolate musical wasteland of Orlando, Florida until 2007, when he moved to college at the University of Southern California in the melodic hills of Los Angeles. He is currently a full-time student and a staff writer for the Daily Trojan paper, as well as editor of his own private music review site (www.klap4music.com).

An avid drummer, he’s always on the lookout for someone to jam with. He also enjoys non-pretentious rock ‘n’ roll, trashy pop, female vocalists, and dogs of all shapes and sizes.
